SABRINA-VIVIAN HÖPCKER
Born in Hamburg / Germany, began her violin studies with her father at the age of seven years. Only 14 years old, she enters the University of Music of the city of Bremen, being a preparatory student of Prof. Maria Grevesmühl. Three years later Max Rostal, himself being assistant of Carl Flesch calls her to study with him in Switzerland. After finishing secondary school in 1992 as the best student of the entire age group represented, she enters the Hanover Music High School studying with Jens Ellermann, teacher of students such as Midori and Gil Shaham. After taking part successfully in various international competitions, she studies in Madrid and Luebeck for four years with Prof. Zakhar Bron, teacher of Maxim Vengerov and Vadim Repin. In 2000 she finishes her advanced studies in Karlsruhe with an unanimous “excellent”, having been student of Prof. Josef Rissin.

She also performed at the “Summer Music-Festival” of the city of Hitzacker, at the famous “Braunschweiger Kammermusikpodium”, she played in the series “The New Soloists” in the “Auditorio Nacional de Música”, Madrid, she performed in the “Circulo de Bellas Artes”, Madrid and was invited repeatedly to perform for “DORIAN” concerts in Hamburg/Munich. In 2003 she played in the series “Winners and Masters” in the Gasteig in Munich.
As a soloist with orchestra she also worked together and performed with personalities of the classical music world like Zubin Mehta (two concerts with his “Bayerische Staatsorchester” in Munich, and one concert at the “Auditorio Nacional de Música” in Madrid), with Yehudi Menuhin, with Victor Pablo Perez, James Judd, just to mention some and lately also with Placido Domingo, playing with him on the occasion of his concert in Germany in the year 2001.
As a chamber musician Sabrina-Vivian Höpcker performs as a stable duo with the Italian pianist Fabio Bidini. She collaborated also with Paul Rivinius and Nikolaus Römisch (Twelve Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra).
Sabrina-Vivian Höpcker is the winner of the following national and international competitions: FMS – competition (´85), “Jugend –musiziert” (´92), special prize for the outstanding interpretation of the Richard Strauss violin sonata at the international Carl Flesch Academy (´93), Concorso internazionale “Premio Sassari” (´94), Concorso internazionale “Rovere d´Oro” (´97), Concorso internazionale “Riviera del Conero” (2001), Concorso internazionale “Abbado” (2001), and special prize for the best interpretation of a violin sonata, “Premio Paolo Borciani” (performed: L.v. Beethoven: Sonata in D Major,op.12/1).
In 1997 two CDs of Sabrina-Vivian Höpcker performing works of Beethoven, Schumann and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy with her Piano-Trio “Trio Mozart” are published by SONY España and Anfión calling forth very positive acclaim of the Spanish press.
In 2004 the first CD of Sabrina-Vivian Höpcker and Fabio Bidini as a duo, featuring sonatas by Richard Strauss and Sergeij Prokofieff, will be released by the new US American recording company “True Sounds”.
