Extended description:
The three ensembles based upon the saxophone and the piano allow to have a broad spectrum of sounds and perceive the undertones. When the horn accompanies other instruments the sonority is leaning towards warm with soft colors which harmonizes very well with the vivid sound of the piano and the saxophone. The instruments are well situated, with the piano behind all of them spreading an atmosphere that embraces other instruments while the saxophone is in a highlight and the horn is well placed on the sonorous scene. A great exuberance of this instrument must be under control of the musician and there should be used a suitable microphone for the recording. The voice needs a microphone to make it rather distinguishable and to place it to the right of the piano, as it really was during the recording. The saxophone interferes both to emphasize vocal passages and to act like an antagonist voice. More often it is situated to the left of the sonorous scene. It isn't static but following the extensive movements of the musician. The recording hall is a small theater with a good echo back. It renders the instruments solid and full dimensional. The works were performed in a period about 3 months. They provide us with a wide essay of the contemporary music passing through the different genres for a wide audience. As far as I know my own Hi-Fi sound reproduction system, I think that it’s really useful to try to arrange and set the instruments into a broad sound stage. The dts version (as in all of my works) adds an irreplaceable reconstruction of ambience which catapults the listener into the real performance emotionally involving him.
